semi-custom guide

HOW TO ORDER

I. Browse

Begin by exploring the different semi-custom options and deciding which suite suits your style and wedding day.

II. Customize

Decide which print method and paper type suits your style and budget, and the quantity you'll need for your event. I recommend ordering enough to have extras in case of last minute additions, keepsakes, or detail photographs. Add to cart and fill out the customization form.

III. Add-Ons

Before completing your order, visit the adornment shop to browse the selection of wax seals, guest addressing, or add on assembly to check one more task off your list. Select the items you would like to add to your wedding paper goods and add them to your cart.

IV. Check Out

Once you have everything you want in your cart, complete your order by checking out. If you ordered anything that required more information from you, such as guest addresses or venue imagery, please send those within 24 hours of your order.

What to expect next?

Within seven business days I will send you your proof. Please review all of the information carefully and make sure everything looks as it should. One revised proof is included in your order. Once your proof is approved, it will be sent to print. Once it's printed, your order is inspected, counted, and carefully packaged and shipped to you.

TIMEFRAME

Your invitations will arrive in your mailbox four to eight weeks after you place your order. If you choose letterpress or foil printing, please allow an additional two weeks. If you are ordering internationally, also plan on an additional week for shipping. If you require a shorter turnaround, please contact me for a custom quote to rush your order.

QUANTITY

Orders are currently limited to 25 - 200 invitations, and 50-200 day-of items. Please contact me for a custom quote if you need a smaller or larger quantity. I highly recommend ordering 10 - 15 extra pieces for last-minute guests, keepsakes, and photographs on the wedding day.

ENVELOPE OPTIONS

Cardstock Envelopes

Matte Euro Flap envelopes are sophisticated and come in a variety of colors. Please note that unless you order an entire handmade paper suite, your envelopes will be our standard cardstock. Each of the envelope color options are very close to their corresponding ink colors, but won't be a perfect match due to printing and screen variations. Interested in my suggested color combinations? See this journal entry!

PRINTING METHODs & colors

Digital Printing

Digital printing consists of a high-quality laser printer transferring the design onto paper. The finished invitation will look crisp, clean, and smooth. Available with cardstock or handmade paper.

Letterpress

Letterpress printing is a technique of relief printing using a printing press. Custom dies are positioned into the bed of the press and inked, then paper is pressed against it to transfer the ink, creating an impression. This method leaves a deep, pillowy impression in the paper.

Metallic Foil

Foil printing is the application of metallic foil, to paper where a heated die is stamped onto the foil, making it adhere to the surface leaving the design of the die on the paper. Color options include gold, silver, and rose gold.

mix & match

The way I have set up each shop listing allows you to either order an entire suite with the same paper type, ink color, and printing method, or you can order each piece separately in order to mix and match papers, colors, and printing methods. This is also an opportunity to forgo a particular piece if it is not necessary for your event.

Common ways to mix & match:

If you love the look of handmade paper, but can't afford an entire suite printed on it, opt for the invitation in handmade paper and the rest in our standard stock! This is a great way to make your invite stand out from the other pieces.

The same goes for printing methods! If you adore letterpress or foil printing, but can't afford to have each card printed in that method, opt to have just the invitation letterpressed or foiled, and the other pieces digitally printed!

There are endless options for customization – if you need help deciding what might look good, just reach out and I'd be happy to guide you in the right direction!

FONT

All fonts will remain as they are in the suite pictured on the listing page.
If the suite features calligraphy, you will have a choice between two calligraphy styles.

guest addressing & adornments

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many invitation suites should I order?
I recommend ordering one suite per household, not one per guest, plus 10-15 extra in case of last minute guests, wrong addresses, and keepsakes. If you're unsure, take the total number of guests you're inviting and multiply that by .75 or 75% and that should get you closer to the household count.

Can I order a sample?
You sure can! I currently offer samples of each suite, along with an ink sample card. You can order via the shop listing here. At this time I cannot customize each sample to your specific colors, print method, or paper type, but if you're specifically interested in a type of printing or paper, I can check what I have in stock and try to send something your way!

What can I change during revisions?
Each purchase includes one round of revisions prior to printing. Your revisions may include changes to the text and color, but not the calligraphy or design. Minor layout changes can be made, as long as the overall design is preserved.

Will my suites arrive assembled?
The semi-custom services do not include assembly, however, if you would like me to take that off your plate, you can add that to your order here. Otherwise, your suite will ship flat & will require stuffing into their envelopes, addressing, and stamping (if you have not opted for printed addresses)

How much postage should I order?
I can't guarantee the amount of postage required for your suite, because it depends on weight, thickness, size, and destination. I recommend taking your finished suite to the post office to determine how much postage it will require.

I do, however suggest ordering enough postage to affix to your response cards.
